5 Minute Cat Sketches

Some days are just more productive than others, and today was quite productive. Just not in the drawing/painting/sketching arena. We’ve mostly gotten all packed up for leaving for the U.P. tomorrow. That’s great. But I had no idea what I wanted to do for a sketch until after 10:00 this evening, when I decided to try a few life drawings of the cat. The top two drawings were at least initially done from life, but a lot of speculation has gone into the details of those sketches, and the top left one shows it. I gave up and did the bottom two drawings from photos on my photo roll. I’m trying to get better at capturing a quick essential pose, for cats specifically, since their movement is so fluid and graceful. That can be tough to do - though I suppose more practice will help. I am quite proud of the top left sketch. It’s quite nice.
