A Few Beach Compositions

A Few Beach Compositions

Here are a few more beach compositions from a few weeks ago. It was a windy, overcast day at the beach. The gusts were enough to tussle hair and send a few errant leaves tumbling through the air, but not enough to send sand into the eyes like tiny daggers. I was taken by the path/dune grass/trees framing of the first scene. I think I may try a quick painted sketch of this, as I love the dark shapes of the trees and grass against the white sand. I just got to the beach proper when I saw the rain over the lake. It looked like a wall of water completing the wall of clouds sprinting my way. So I hurried back to the car, making it just in time to miss the worst of the rain.
