A Few Recent Sketches

Here are a few sketches that I've been working on over the past few days, focused on clouds, I guess. I do love a good cloud. The color sketch is from my evening of portraits on the river at The Boardwalk. I shifted the focus in the clouds a bit by pushing the color near the top to enhance the feeling of sunset.

The other quick sketch is from this evening, out on a walk. I love that whole backlit cloud thing. It's hard to capture in paint or graphite though.
