A Few Sketches

I ended up doing a few sketches today, instead of working on a painting. I did a quick portrait sketch, just to keep the drawing/painting people muscle working, and then did a quick sketch of some deer in an ink brush pen. The brush pen is always fun as it maximizes the whole “you can‘t erase your mistakes” thing with ink. I’ve done a fair number of deer drawings & paintings at this point - enough that I’m starting to actually understand the basic forms and kinda ”get” how a deer looks. They’re such a staple here in SW Michigan, and seem to only be becoming more-so every year.
