A Girl and Her Cat
Oftentimes, I try to find some common thread or insight about painting to include - mostly because writing things down helps me to remember them better. But also because it's either that or I spend the newsletter making fun of myself. Sometimes I can do both. Today as I was thinking about what to write about, I was having trouble thinking about what interesting thing happened while painting. Nothing. There was no interesting thing that happened. Sometimes that just how painting goes - sometimes you just need to power through some mundane, non-interesting stuff to get through to the end of the painting. I got some more extraneous background stuff taken care of, and did a bit more work on Alva. He looks better now, but he's still not quite there yet. maybe one last final pass? I hope? I am really digging Hannah's hands though. They went from blobs to passable hands. The big tough thing I'm really not looking forward to attending to is the plants along the edges of the painting. Those are gonna be a bear to paint.
