A Landscape Paint for in Blood
It was a beautiful morning and we decided to the extra-long block walk through the woods. The thought was that it's been cooler the past few days, and the mosquitoes might not be so bad currently. The thought may have been correct, but they were still out in force in the woods. I took my life in my hands and stopped to snap this picture of a particularly beautiful spot on the path. I got a bunch of mosquito bites, but they gave me the itch (pun intended) to give it a shot as a painting.
Progress on the other painting has been going so slowly, and I really wanted a bit of a palette cleanser, so to speak. So I knocked this one out in a few hours today. Much quicker. I guess it's an easier subject for me. I snapped some progress photos along the way.
Anyways, it was a nice way to build up some confidence after this floral painting that feels like it's taking forever to get right.
I guess it's back to the other one now.
