And We're Done With the Series

Got this last one finished today. I'm pretty happy with the whole series, and I'm hoping to not do it again for a while. I think I'll stick to one-off paintings for a while. One thing of interest I found is that a series with some constraints really helps focus improvement in a certain area. I got a bit better at working a bit smaller, and while I'd not say I'm good at detailed paintings (I just don't think that's my thing) I think I got better at adding a bit of detail where it's necessary to make a painting work. I grew a bit more sensitivity towards that aspect of the craft. I think the constraint of three paintings at the same smaller size , all of a similar subject-matter, back-t0-back really helped focus the skill acquisition.
