Apple Tree

Apple Tree

When we were out on a walk earlier this week, I caught sight of this awesome little apple tree. It looked like it had shot up about four feet of new growth straight up and out, and the foliage was all at the outer ends of the new branches. On top of that, all the apples were now ripe and hanging down. It created this beautiful character that I din’t think I quite got in this sketch, but I‘m hoping to get in the next one. It’s really interesting seeing apple trees outside an orchard - they have so much character and so much variety. There are a handful in our neighborhood, and none of them look even remotely like any of the others. I think I might try a painted sketch of this one tomorrow, if things go to plan.
