Background Colors

I spent a bit of time today working on the background to the sketch from Sunday. It’s a sort of abstracted version of the background that I think flattens the image a bit. Mostly just white paint tinted with a bit of blue or red. I kinda like the effect. I think it’s in keeping with the “sketch” intention I initially started out with - just try stuff and see how it goes. I’m also adding a few sketches from my sketchbook. One is another sketch of the barn from our trip up north, and the other is a quick compositional sketch I’m trying out for a possible painting of Hannah and Alva.
