Barn on a Hill

I think I ended up doing a sketch of this one a few weeks past, but I'm not seeing it on here, and I don't know where it is. So I did a new sketch just for fun. Somewhere in our local travels recently we drove past this beautiful barn and out-buildings situated on this green, gently sloping hill. I loved that bright pop of red right in the middle of those verdant green slopes, but I find that often the color distracts from what's happening with the value structure of a scene. So sometimes it's a really good idea to buckle down and do a quick value study just to make sure you know what's going on and to design your values in a scene to help support the color a bit better.
