Cats are Really Just Made of Triangles

Guys, cats are really just made of triangles!

So as I’m sure you’re quite aware at this point, I’ve been spending the past few days learning to draw/cartoon cats more effectively. And then for some reason today the thought “Cats are basically just a bunch of triangles” popped into my head, and I figured I’d better try it with a few cat sketches.

And it worked! Then I thought, ”could I make bendy triangles to show movement?”. so I tried a few more. Just to test the theory further.

And some jumping cats and running cats.

And a sleeping cat.

Honestly, I’m sure I’ve heard or read this advice somewhere before, but it came as such a fun realization that I’m choosing to believe it came to me out of the blue.

I hate that this sort of “breakthrough“ only comes after doing a fair bit of work beforehand, though. It would’ve been fun to have this insight from the start.
