Composition Sketch
We ended up at a local park/nature preserve called Fernwood two day in a row. Both were beautiful spring days, though there was a good 30 degrees of temperature difference between the two. Both days, though, I found myself drawn to a particular turn in one of the pathways. It's lined by a thick wall of pine trees that are drastically different in character on either side. Tall vertical pines on the left, and on the right much shorter trunks before the bulk of the needles. I love the little bits of light that make it through the trunks on the right side. So I started a compositional sketch of the scene, in the hopes that I can start a painting of this turn in the path soon.
