Cornfield Composition Sketch

I haven't done a composition sketch like this in a while, and I really like doing them on occasion. There's something about the really simple 2-3 value structure, and focus on big shapes that sometimes really appeals to me. I love the puzzle of fitting these big interlocking shapes together in interesting ways. I love this one in particular for the bright band of trees at the back of the cornfield with the light hitting them, and the bits of light hitting the top of the tree in the center. I also really like the fact that every tree in the image has a completely different character.
