Dandelions

I have this thing where I really don't like painting cut flowers - it always feels like painting something that's already dead and just doesn't realize it yet. It feels weird to me. So as much as possible, I try to paint flowers that are still growing. It's not a moral thing - it's just a weird personal rule I try to follow as much as possible.

So naturally today I saw these "dead" dandelions and decided to paint them... I don't know - there's no real method to the madness I guess. Maybe I'm just cheap and don't like buying cut flowers to paint. That sounds about right. But these dandelion poofs looked so cool today. I'm hoping I can do a few more finishing touches to this painting and call it good here soon.
