Fernwood Garden Sketch

We had a few extra hours during the day on Wednesday last week, so we went to the library and checked out a pass for Fernwood - a local nature reserve/park. We wandered down wooded paths, crossed fields of chest-high prairie grasses and wildflowers, and finally wandered into the more "formal garden" section of the park. I was snapping pictures the whole time - there's plenty that would make for good paintings, and hopefully I get a few good paintings out of it. This is from one of the more formal garden spaces, though it has a rather wild and unkempt look to it right now, too. This one is for sure going to end up a painting - I hope here soon! But first, the sketch. Just to get my head around the scene a bit before diving into paint.
