Ink
Today I spent some time re-acquainting myself with drawing with a fountain pen. Last week I got the foundational drawing done for a different silly self-portrait, and I’m quite attached to the outcome of that drawing.

So I decided to use another one of the drawings in this self-portrait series as a test to make sure that I won’t mess that one up. Aaaaand I messed up this drawing… Makes me happy I did a bit of practice beforehand.

It’s always weird getting into an inking headspace. When you mess up, since you can’t erase, you just add more ink and hope it turns out. (Actually this is kinda true - if you mess up royally, like I did, you lower the value of the drawing and things look somewhat normal again.) So that’s what I did. And then I made sure to stop inking when the drawing got back to somewhat acceptable. So here it is. And I’m guessing I should probably do a few more practice drawings before I start work on that last self-portrait.
