Ink Sketches

I did a bit of pen-and-ink sketching today, and re-discovered how much fun it is and can be. I started these out with a brush pen filled with brown ink, got the basic shapes in properly, and then used a fountain pen, also with brown ink, to create the outlines and fine details where I wanted them. The final sketches have a loose feel to them while still being pretty accurate. They also have the advantage of starting with big shapes, and then moving to finer details as the larger shapes resolve themselves, very similarly to how I often approach painting. I sketched two of my favorite subjects for these sketches too - Alva and Hannah - which made the sketching just that much more fun!
