Lake Michigan Dunes
I had thought this was painted at a local beach - Grand Mere. I even named it "Grand Mere Dunes". Then I looked down at what I'd written, and noticed it was, in fact, painted in Saugatuck. That took me back to our beach day with friends the day I painted it. We wandered around on the beach until the sun got lower in the sky. I busted out the paints and captured this golden-hour scene as the sun drifted towards the horizon. My favorite part is the cast shadows on the sand - all the footprints creating patterned divots across the beach.
