Leaves, Water & Reflections
There are some paintings that I'm including in the show that are - objectively - probably not anything special. But I love them. This is one of them. There's not really a focus - nothing that the eye immediately gravitates to. But the vibes are there. At least for me. It feels to me like one of this paintings where there's enough visual information in most parts of the painting that the eye just jumps from little detail to little detail. You know, the exact opposite of what they usually say to do when composing. I love the backlit leaves in the upper portion of the painting. Their reflections are pretty fun too. The brown ripples on blue water are quite descriptive. I love the sunlight splashes on the tree trunk on the right. And lastly, the soft, wet, dark blue splashes that gently transition over the light blue water near the shore.
So yeah, I love all the little pieces of this painting, even if they don't combine into a particularly good painting. And mostly, I just wanna see it in a frame.
