More Brush Pen Sketching

I did this little compositional sketch of one of my favorite Michigan sights today - the big field-long sprinkler systems that you see crawling across the landscape here. I've always loved the graceful arches of the main pipe, balanced out by the straight, tense lines of the supporting structures. I get the same sense looking at this (albiet on a smaller scale) that I do observing the Mackinac Bridge every time we cross it. A delicate balance of curving harmonies balanced out by cable under tension.
