More Portrait Practice

Still trying to get in portrait practice. This one isn't a particularly great likeness, but I'm really liking the softness in the marks, with some sharper accents in strategic places. And the focus on value and big shapes before layering details on top of that seems to be slowly bonking its way into my brain. Practice makes progress and all that... I do really like that in art-making (and in many other things in life as well) that even when you can't make large amounts of progress, a slow and steady chipping away at things still brings improvement.
