More Winter Landscapes

I spent a few minutes today doing some compositional sketches of some other winter scenes. I’m not sure if it’s just the general flatness of this area of Michigan, or if I’m just drawn to very horizontal compositions today. I had to spend a bit of time working on diagonal leads, or enhancing the diagonal leads into the compositions. They’re probably both still pretty static compositions, but perhaps it helps a bit. Maybe I’ll try one or both of these as a painting, and see what the color composition can do to help make interesting images. It’ll definitely help the tree-line image.
