Neighborhood Cloudscape

I took the quick compositional sketch from earlier this week, and spent a bit of time doing a digital painting on my ipad for a bit of a color comp. And just to keep exploring all the new brushes from the Procreate update. It’s a weird workflow, but I’ve discovered that I really like ”painting” over images of drawings from my actual sketchbook. While I like “digital painting“ on the ipad, I really struggle with digital drawing. It’s just not very fun to me. I think it might have something to do with the lack of physical stimulation drawing on a glass screen - even with a matte screen cover and modified pencil tip, it still feels nothing like the act of drawing on physical paper with an actual pencil or pen. This just seems to work better for me, as weird and esoteric as it is.
