No Comparison
Every time I do one of these digital color studies I worry that I'll not want to do an actual pointing of the subject after. But mostly the color studies do the opposite of that. They help me figure things out a bit, of course, but mostly they're unfulfilling. I'm really hoping to get to this one sometime this week in real paint. There is really no comparison to the physical act of painting with physical paint. The fluidity and tactile response. The Struggle with reality. All of it. There really is no comparison. I'm glad to do these digital color studies, but they really only whet my appetite for the oil paints or watercolors.
