Peonie Update
An update on the Ponies by the front door: the ants are out. Last year I learned (it was probably Hannah - she knows all kinds of random stuff about things) that ants will crawl all over peonies before they open. I read up on this - because of course I did - and apparently people used to think the ponies wouldn't open if the ants weren't present. Turns out, most people don't think that anymore. Apparently ants eat the sugar from the flowers and protect the peonies from other insects, but the peonies open regardless of the ant's presence.
