Portrait(s)
I got to portrait class this evening. The first painting (left) just felt like it jumped out of the paintbrush. I got through it in a bit over an hour, and had the distinct feeling that if I kept working on it I would make it worse. So I moved my easel over and started the almost profile painting. not as good as the first one, but honestly it was fine. I had a lot of fun with the bright colorful background, too. I basically picked complementary colors from the skin tones, and pushed the saturation a lot more than the desaturated colors in the skin. Tomorrow I start teaching a watercolor class, and I'm starting out with a demo. So best bet is that tomorrow will be a watercolor painting.
