Step Two
I'm starting to get the tree silhouettes onto the paper now. In class right now I'm covering the "three stages of watercolor painting". First is "big" shapes - the washes from yesterday, and generally much of the first layer of the painting. Next comes the "medium" shapes - in this case, the trees. I've got a bit more to go on the "medium" shapes, but then it'll be small shapes and fine details. I couldn't resist, and added a few of them - the figures right in the center of the scene - just to add some context and help me envision the painting a bit better.
I'll be back to this one next week.
