Sunrise Clouds

I saw this scene biking in to work this morning, and promptly stopped my bike and took a few photos. The clouds have been so good during this heat-wave, and this was such a nice moment of quiet before work. I decided to do a quick sketch of the scene when I got home today, but I also decided to go big - I’ve been feeling doing a larger painting. I wanted to try doing an initial sketch to see how the general idea is turning out. It’s going ok so far, so hopefully I can do a second pass here soon!
