Sycamore

The opening reception for the series 4 show at The Box Factory was this evening. My show was part of that. The one painting that I kept seeing in the corner of my eye had a big old sycamore tree hanging out over the river. So after getting home, I found some photo reference I took of a few sycamore trees, and did a quick sketch of one. I really love the mix of elegant curves and gnarled, twisting branches that typify sycamore trees around here.
