Wednesday Night is Portrait Night!

I finally made it back to portrait class! It feels like it's been forever. I like the portrait that I made, but it does have a few drawing mistakes in it - I'm a bit out of practice. It was so much fun to get back to painting a portrait from life, though! And the shirt was super fun to paint. Trying to capture the open knit patterns of the shirt was a different challenge than I've experienced before. If I nailed anything in this painting, I think the shirt is it. I'm also including a picture of the painting about halfway through, before I added the background in. In some ways, I actually think it's a stronger painting at this stage. But it's missing the shirt. And the shirt, as previously stated, was super fun to paint!
