Winter Barn Composition

It’s that time of the year where my body decides “It’d be super fun if you got a bit sick today!”. So instead of spending my afternoon on a painting, I fell asleep on the couch. It’s probably good - using the afternoon for a bit of rest is a bit unusual for me. But it does mean that today‘s drawing is a bit… lackluster. I do like the reference photo quite a bit though. Old barns are some of my favorite subjects. I think if I were to turn this into a painting I’d have to work really hard to keep the field in the foreground from going too flat. I think I may need to actually try this now - if only for the challenge of it. Once I start feeling better, of course.
